Youth in Revolt revolves around a sexually challenged teenager named Nick Twisp, starred by Michael Cera. In this movie Nick Twisp goes on a vacation to end up finding a beautiful girl, Sheeni Saunders, who he feels instantaneously attached to. Although Sheeni seems to be into the nerdy boy known as Nick Twisp, the two actually live quite far from each other making a relationship seem near impossible.
Nick explains that he’d do anything to stay and be with Sheeni and they mastermind a plan to get closer to each other so they can be together.
Nick Twisp ends up creating an alter-ego by the name of Francois Dillinger to help him commit crimes in his community that he would never normally pursue. Once his alter-ego takes control of him, Nick finds himself in some unfamiliar situations but realizes he’s getting closer to being with his true love, Sheeni.
I personally feel Michael Cera does an amazing job of acting in this movie. Not only as himself, the nerdy geeky guy, but also as his alter-ego who is quite definable as a complete badass.
If you haven’t gotten a chance to watch this flick yet, I recommend you doing so. It’s quite comedic and romantic all twisted in one.
My Personal Movie Rating: 7.3/10
