Movie Review: Bad Teacher

You know when you’re sitting down, watching television and you see a preview of a movie that you just have to see, then you see it and realize they showed all of the funny parts in the previews? Bad Teacher is one of those movies. There are definitely parts in the movie that are laugh out loud funny, but sometimes you don’t know if you’re laughing with the movie or at it.

The concept of the movie was great, the writing was amazing, but the delivery could have been better. The only good things Bad Teacher has is Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel. Two of the best comedy actors that could have been cast. The worst? Justin Timberlake. His acting was abysmal. I’m sure he thought he could be the male version of Jennifer Lopez, but after his performance in Bad Teacher he should just stick to singing.

Bad Teacher was predictable till the very end, but there were a couple of things that kept the movie uniquely entertaining. The protagonist (Cameron Diaz) and the antagonist (Lucy Punch) do not become BFFs by the end of the movie, the central character does not get what she was after the entire movie, and the “Bad Teacher” continues to be bad with absolutely no redemption. It ended in non-traditional Hollywood fashion, which any movie-goer can appreciate.

My Personal Movie Rating: 6.5/10.
